Rainbow Trout were introduced to Australia from New Zealand in 1884.
Our trout are sourced from the crystal clear freshwater in the Goulburn river region of Victoria.
We stock fresh frozen fish which have been gilled & gutted with fish around 250-300g each making a perfect meal size for one. We also stock hot smoked trout.
The name Rainbow Trout is derived from the beautiful colours that shine on their skin. Trout flesh can be white, pink or orange depending on their diet. It has a delicate almost nutty flavour.
Whole fish taste great cooked on the barbeque stuffed with herbs & lemon wedges.
The flesh of smoked trout is delicious with crème fraiche in dips.
